dressed in (casual) holiday style...

Dressed to go out to the church to set up tables and prepare for our 2nd Annual Display of Nativity Sets tomorrow...I'm standing in front of the newly hung wreath made out of bed springs!  I'm trying to figure out how to decorate it to keep it VERY simple...
(To see the process involved in making the wreath, see my husband's blog,)

  1. Now Rebecca, that bed spring wreath is just incredible! I never ever in my life would have thought of such a thing! Good for your husband.

Now, could you please tell me more about the nativity display show at your church? That sounds like fun. Does everyone bring in a nativity scene to show? I'd love to know more details. Thanks. Susan

  2. Yes, Susan. Families of the church (and additional people in the community) bring their nativity sets. They fill out cards giving any special features/descriptions/memories associated with the sets. The display is open to the public during the afternoon. I'll be taking pictures and telling more tomorrow.

  3. A bed spring wreath, so original! What an idea! This town makes bed springs...wonder if they ever thought of this?

  4. I like the idea of a Nativity Viewing Night at the church! There are so many great sets that people put together and/or collect over the years. Nice Christmas outfit .. and love the wreath.

You look great in this outfit, Rebecca - seriously smashing in that sexy slit. :)

  7. The wreath is Very Clever (or I should say your husband is Very Clever). If it were mine I'd string some of the tiniest white lights through it and just let it twinkle.

  9. That spring-wreath is awesome and so are you. I like the way you centered the lit lamp across from the mirror in the middle of the wreath. I think some fragile berry twigs wound through the springs and maybe some white lights like someone else suggested, altho' how would you hide the cord? Maybe a small hidden floodlight of some sort would highlight the wreath. Or move a slender lamp just under the wreath would do the trick. But who am I to suggest something to someone much more creative than I am. Keep enlightening and enjoying the season.
