pleasure bent

As I was leaving the second (and final) thrift store of my thrifting excursion this past week, my eyes fell on a jewelry box filled with pieces.  It took some sorting, but I came up with this pair of dangly earrings.  Definitely MY style....and for 50 cents, a bargain!
I found this woven heart at my first stop...
...and enough designer fabric to cover two chair seats with PLENTY left over for future projects.

It had to be neutral enough to sit
 at the same table with
this VERY "loud" pattern.
and it had to be VERY inexpensive.
Although on pleasure she was bent, she had a frugal mind. - William Cowper

  2. You did swell on your outing! I had a heart like that once...wonder if I still have it somewhere?

Ear rings are sweet, they too remind me of some I have. I like the style but usually revert to my hoops when I "dress" my ears.

Hope you are getting some of this warming trend there.

  5. What a good haul! Those chairs will look perfect together, I don't like a matchy-matchy look. xxx

  6. Heather, Yes - this is the "newly" thrifted fabric. They HAD been red velvet and it just wasn't working with the orange floral :)

  8. I love how you use your finds straight away. That stops them turning into clutter. The chair seats are cute, and go well with the loud ones, and your heart shaped mat would be great for hot plates too. That quote is divine.

  9. you did great...I've driven by my favorite thrift stores a couple times lately without stopping for one reason or another. But I'm getting the "itch"! Also just noticed a new antique store in town. Dying to check it out! I really like the fabric for the chairs...it matches the hot pad perfecly and the earrings are my style too!

  11. Rebecca,
Wow! You are my kind of shopper. I live for my thrift store visits. There are three independently owned ones in my vicinity and three Goddwill stores as well. I am in my element when I go to my 'junk' stores. Please sign on as a follower at my blog, and I will do the same on yours. http://lindaoconnell.blogspot.com/
