brooch day at lady bugs

From left to right:  A hand-painted floral, a bird of paradise, a colorful hand-made floral, a turquoise/faux pearl, and a celluloid child's pin with eyes that jiggle...
When I couldn't decide which brooch to wear for our monthly meeting of Lady Bugs, I decided to go with several of my more unusual ones...
A bit of color for this gray, overcast day.
All were acquired at thrift stores except the turquoise/pearl one which I actually selected at a jewelry exchange at Lady Bugs' meeting last year.

  1. I love how you've teamed them, they give the effect of a necklace and far more striking than just wearing one. xxx

  2. Well, I've been playing 'catch-up' here too, and I love it all!
The artwork, the jewelery, the chairs and desk (and I absolutely love the imperfection! It makes it perfectly imperfect!), the fabrics, the the colorful tins, the scarf, the top, that fabulous overcoat, and I am wild about the pottery, especially that unique heart, and what a find the Bible was!
    All so wonderful!
    Lucky lady!
    Love to you,
    Eileen

  4. Very creative way to wear your pins! Nice. I have lots of pins too. Used to wear one everyday in classroom, ala M. Albright! Kids called me the Pin Lady...well, among other things I am sure.

  11. I love all your vintage pins. I think the bird is my favorite. I'm a big fan of vintage jewelry; I have many of my grandmother's pin and earring sets which I enjoy wearing. It's nice to find fashion bloggers closer to my age (I'm 51).
