i've only just begun

 In my various stages of accumulation, I went through a Nativity Set phase.
Some people rescue pets...
I rescued "Sets"!
 Of course, the sets that I rescued were bedraggled and incomplete.
I need to come to grips with my accumulated stables.
So I've decided to pull them out and touch them up --
in my own, unique way, of course.
A stray angel here;
a plastic star there.
A bottle tree and lone manger with the Christ Child.
I've only just begun.
 Three stray (and unrelated) "wise men" populate an empty stable.

  1. In my various stages of accumulation, I went through a Nativity Set phase too! So I totally 'get it'... my all time fav Gift from The Man was the Vatican Nativity Set that took two years to acquire in full... each month a piece was sent so it was a gift that kept on giving and I anticipated each month to receive the new piece... it is a Collection that will be a Family Heirloom passed down. But I have several rescued sets as well... and one of my Dear Elderly Friends passed to me her Heirloom Nativity before she went into a Nursing Home because she knew it would be cherished here. I have at least one Nativity that is displayed year round. Your Collection is Lovely! Thanks for stopping by... you crack me up... the ADHD is very likely responsible for my energetic excess, back in my day that isn't what they called it... my Parents were told that they just had a VERY busy Child! *he he he* The older I get the more of a "Gift" it has become actually, I'll probably burn out before I slow down... but with what I have responsibility for I NEED an unnatural dose of energy and ability to multi-task effortlessly. *Winks*

  2. PS: I almost forgot to add that the Orphaned Pieces finding a Home in the various rescued Creches is something I thought only I had done and now I don't feel like the Lone Ranger! Some of my sets probably have Orphaned pieces that used to Grace many different complete sets once upon a time.

  7. Your depictions of the nativity are unique and lovely. To me it kind of represents strangers all getting along for some reason. Truly reflects the Season.

  8. Hi Rebecca, I love your creche! I have been wanting one for a while now but have not liked any of the ones I've seen. I think you are on to something with the way you are collecting items here and there. Much more personal.
