The Thrifting Adventure

One highlight of the past few days include this FREE cedar chest.
My husband's already "on it"--
repairing and eventually refinishing it!
The old Westclox wind-up seemed to be locked up and non-working.
But I bought it for a quarter.  Hubby removed the back & oiled it a bit
and now it's ticking away and keeping good time.
I love the tick of an old clock!
Maybe my favorite find is this gateleg table complete with
 drawers and cupboard storage.
A few repairs are necessary, but I can't wait to move it into the house!
There were other "smalls" that I found along the way,
so today I'll be thinning out a few items to make way for the new.
That, to me, is the fun of this Thrifting Adventure!

  1. My daughter's boyfriend just refinished a beautiful cedar hope chest for her. It's beautiful and so much more special because he took the time to "make it new" for her--even recovering the top cushion. I hope you show "after" pictures of yours.

    1. Darla, Gary has to reconstruct two legs. I think that means we'll need to paint the legs....and one of the drawers is missing. He'll either make a "blank" to fill in the hole or see if he can make a drawer....Still. For $5, it's going to be great.

    1. I don't know about "gifted", but I am frugal and a hold-out for inexpensive "finds" with potential. Then I'm REALLY gifted to have a husband who can work the magic!

YOU are the gifted one, Dee!
