Puzzling

After a rather recent success with a jigsaw puzzle purchased at a thrift store,
I was not so reluctant to spend $.25 on THIS one...
particularly after my visit to a local monastery.
It seemed to "fit" my mindset somehow.
It's set up - ready for action - on the handy gateleg table
that my husband recently refinished.
I found this heavy, beveled oval mirror
at a garage sale last weekend
and painted the frame white.

Other finds that day included these bookends...
these two unfinished wooden pieces (free box)...
and this candle holder designed to raise the taper candle as it grows smaller.
These are some of my most recent "finds".
(I'm especially fond of the bookends.)

  1. The candle holder needs to be sitting on a stack of old books! I love bookends and these are beautiful. I'm still loving that beautiful table. I'd love to sit and put a puzzle together there.

    1. Wish you WERE here, Pamela! The puzzle has been sitting in readiness and we still haven't been still enough to put two border pieces together yet!

  2. Nice looking things....I need to look around more. It is so cool here this morning, so delightful after the burning heat. I just want to sit outside and soak up the air...maybe I will be energized enough to go "marketing" soon.

  4. Sue was looking for a oval mirror to paint white and hang over her mantel. I still have not started my puzzle. It takes me forever to do one.
