mirrors again

Mirrors no matter how big or how small expand horizons and add depth and are one of the easiest decorating tools around, it amazes me how under used they are.  So says Abigail Ahern, a very creative, down-to-earth, and enthusiastic interior decorator who generously shares her knowledge and style on her website and blog.
Encouraged by Abigail's words, I took a photographic tour
through two rooms in our home.
As you can see, I am NOT one who "underuses" mirrors!

Mirrors definitely "expand horizons" and "add depth" around here!
ALL of the mirrors in my house were purchased at garage sales or thrift stores.
(And as you can see, I am NOT a minimalist when it comes to home style.)
Do you have a favorite mirror in YOUR house?

  1. I love mirrors too and have just picked up a bathroom cabinet that looks identical to yours at a boot sale for £3.00 x

    1. What a great buy! Mine holds card games, dice, & other game pieces and hangs in the eating area of our kitchen. How about yours?

  2. Your mirrors look great. I'll have to check the link you posted. I admit I don't have many mirrors - maybe I will have to think about looking for some. I do always need at least one full length mirror in the house though - and that along with the usual bathroom mirrors is all I currently have.

  4. You do have a lot of mirror but they look so nice. I don't really have any mirrors, one small square in the living room. I do have a mirror tray, again small, I bought in a flea market in the guest bedroom. Silly bauble but I can't seem to turn loose of it.

Everyone who uses my bathroom comments on all the mirrors in there... ha ha I have full mirrored closet doors in my bedroom and a large mirror over the dresser.. in the guest bedroom there is a large mirror over the dresser... in the other bath I have a large mirror over the sink and a full length mirror on the door... I have a full length mirror in my laundry room... and another full length mirror just stuck in a corner in the dining room... I am going to go vist the link and see what I can do differently... 7. Hi Rebecca...I have a mirror like thenone in your second photo hanging over the fireplace. Someday, if I ever find a big gold-framed one I like I'll replace it. But for now it works fine. I love mirrors in decorating but don't like looking in them. ha hahahSUSAN

  8. What a great idea for the blog. I love mirrors and collect some. I had more but luckily my 3 daughters have helped take some off my hands! More room to add new (old) ones!!

  9. I love mirrors. There is even one 'hanging' on the floor. The grand kids cannot understand why. There is no reason. I'm out of room. But if I told them that they would suggest that I get rid of it, but I NEED it for my skaters to skate on in the winter time...
