When art imitates life....
Both the painting and the white box were thrifted.
The lilacs grow beautifully free

  2. I really like lilacs but they don't grow well here by the Bay. Someone told me they need colder winters but I don't know really.

    1. I wonder, too, what it takes. Seems some years are better than others. I've thought it might be because of how we trim them - kind of haphazdly, I'm afraid to admit :)

  8. Oh this brings back a sweet memory. When we were first married there was a lilac bush outside the kitchen window of the small house we rented. The blooms on it were white though. Yours are gorgeous. I can almost smell the flowers from the picture. :)
