can you say "curbside"?

I didn't let my Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes or the fact that it was missing a drawer
get in the way of loading this gem into the trunk of our car!
There is a mirror, too!  We won't put it back on this piece.
I have OTHER plans for it!
The entire piece will be painted.
It will be quite the transformation.
(I can hardly wait!)

  1. Of course now I want to know what is going to become of the mirror. The piece looks big to fit in the trunk of a car but I know you and your DH can treasure hunt like no one else.

    1. Believe me, it IS big.....fortunately, we weren't too far from home, traffic was sparse, and the road was flat. I'm looking for just the right piece of furniture to attach the mirror to. Believe me, I'll show it when I find it :)

  2. Hi Rebecca. Can't wait to see the transformation. Will it be turquoise? Pink? Yellow? White? And want to see what you do with the mirror, too. You and your hubs should write and illustration a book on all your transformations. "From Ugs to Beauts!" It would be wildly popular! Susan

    1. :) You're too kind, Susan! White, I'm thinking--with just a bit of "distressing". I'm going to ask G. tonight if he thinks we can stain the top dark and leave it "wood".......

  3. It will be amazing judging from you have shown in past. Anxious to see. Wish I could get DH to do this. He would rather build from scratch as he loves new wood.

    1. My husband may prefer it, too :) I keep him so busy with OLD wood, he doesn't get a chance to try!

  4. I simply cannot believe how you all find these roadside treasures! I am STILL searching for that perfect little dresser/chest for my living room. How I wish I was a neighbor! I would have bought half the pieces Gary has restored. I think white with the top remaining upainted will be gorgeous. Cannot wait to see it!
