when you've gotta go...

After some major sorting, I've decided to part with these ornaments--two layers of bulbs here in this 18"x14" box.  Many (if not most) are vintage.  I simply needed/wanted to keep and store red and blue bulbs, so I'm going to try to sell this whole box for $5.  If they don't sell after a couple of weeks, they'll join multiple garlands and wreaths in the donation box of a favorite thrift store.  When you've gotta go, you've gotta GO!

  1. I parted with all of my vintage bulb collection (minus 1 special guy) when I moved from NS to NL. It still brings pangs of longing when I see a post about other people's ................. but then I remember that I'd have no room either in my new place or on my tree. Necessary changes!

    1. That's right! "Necessary changes." Though it could be argued it wasn't "necessary" in my case, I AM looking ahead. Trying to keep some semblance of balance between "necessary" and "extra"...

  2. wait!!! I wish I had a picture at my fingertips, but one blogger uses bulbs to make a fantastic table piece. If you keep those bulbs until next Fall, you could make them and sell them for $30 or $40 a piece. I will try to find her post and come back and leave you a link. I promise they are fantastic and very sell-able.

    1. Too late! I have a buyer. (I'm not very crafty anyway - or maybe SHOULD say not very patient!)

    1. It was hard to decide to let them go! I DID keep about that many blue and that many red ones. I may regret it, but oh, well...

  5. I imagine the bulbs are gone by now, Rebecca so good for you. The mere thought of decluttering gives me fits but I'm trying to tackle it one drawer, one corner, and one cabinet at a time. Susan

    1. It appears I should have asked a lot more. I had quite a list of "nexts"! (But then again, if I'd priced them higher, no one may have been interested.....
