I wore it untill there were holes in the cuffs and next to the button holes, but I found wool yarn the same colors as the sweater and wove and crocheted the holes. Just this past year I donated the sweater. I certainly got my use out of it! It was my favorite sweater.Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15471639876072617577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8084627553585504389.post-14937727205276746062013-01-03T04:21:46.024-08:002013-01-03T04:21:46.024-08:00Loving the blue and white. So I keep all of them in a cedar chest in a spare guestroom til the next Christmas comes along. One of my favorites is a beautiful olive green wool with a cream snowflake pattern. It's also hand knit according to the tag. I get so many compliments when I wear it. You'll like this, Rebecca...I got it for $3.00 at Goodwill about five years ago.
Your sweater is really pretty.
Sandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10888547092318964711noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8084627553585504389.post-20863482194632444842013-01-02T10:26:23.816-08:002013-01-02T10:26:23.816-08:00Here in the Desert I don't wear sweaters very ...Here in the Desert I don't wear sweaters very often but I do wear Sari Wraps for warmth when it gets chillier in the Evenings. What I tend to hold onto in my wardrobe are my Magnolia Pearl Bloomers because I still wear them all the time and Love them as much as when I first bought them many years ago. Wearable Art is always in Style. I had to Smile about you getting up close and personal with your new Smart Phone... The Son has one and I cannot even figure out how to turn it on... which didn't make ME feel very smart! *LOL*

Happy New Year from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... It is a winter scene, not necessarily Christmas theme, is wool and a Ralph Lauren. I will probably keep it forever, even though I don't wear it much. I appropriated them in the 80s, as a teen, loving the oversized shape and the smell of my dad on them. My dad died in 1997, but I can't ever get rid of these two - they still smell like him. I have two lightweight pullovers, fairly cheap ones, that bought to get me through a winter of work. They are about 10-12 years old but have worn like iron, more than higher priced ones. I think I will let them go and then...hang on to them a while longer.

I wish we could get back our culture using things more and longer. I remember a coat I had in high school. The lining was shot and outside worn but no money for a new coat. My Gran took an wonderful lining and insulation too from a 20 year old coat and put it in mine...it was very warm, warmer than the original. The lining had been made during WWII era...very servicable for many years more.Bookiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12043111213031211794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8084627553585504389.post-77298566482843755192013-01-02T05:51:44.140-08:002013-01-02T05:51:44.140-08:00I have some older sweaters that I can't bear t...I have some older sweaters that I can't bear to part with, either.
