Speaking of Thrift...

Speaking of "thrift"...this has nothing to do with fashion but everything to do about thrift in daily life.  If you're curious, you can get the scoop here

I AM serious about thrift.  For the past few weeks, I've been avoiding thrift stores.  They have brought me GREAT pleasure throughout the years.  However my house is bursting at the seams.  I have need of nothing that I can think of!

Even though the prices are right, I won't be thrift store shopping for the sheer pleasure of it for awhile.  (Maybe on a "need" basis, though.)

Meanwhile, my fashion decisions and posts (remember, I'm a stay-at-home woman) will reflect the contents of my closet and drawers--which are amply stocked by thrift store purchases.

  1. I understand exactly where you're coming from, Ms. Rebecca. I'm so tired of "stuff" which is why I've been cleaning out for several months and giving to a local thrift store that the money goes to Appalachian Outreach and what is know as the Samaritan House. I've been blessed above and beyond what I will ever need...and maybe somebody else can get use and blessings from it!!! I think part of this way of thinking comes with our age!!! Blessings to you, my blogging friend!

  2. Ohhhhhhhh Rebecca. No thriftie shopping? Awwwwwwww. I know what you mean, though. Sometimes I WISH I had my what-not shop established so I could buy beautiful things and display them for sale. Wouldn't that be absolutely the best? Take care. Sincerely, Susan

  4. When I go charity shop shopping or car boot saling I am overwhelmed by the beautiful items people part with for pence - items of quality and lovely old things with histories. I want to buy up everything but in the end I have to stop and have a sort out! Good luck with trying not to over fill your space xxx
