small and spectacular

It didn't ALWAYS look like this!
It began with this box that caught my eye a l-o-n-g time ago
at a garage sale or thrift store.
It sat on a shelf.
Forgotten--
until my slow process of sorting and down-sizing began.
I found some wooden pegs which my talented husband turned into legs.
He inserted shelves and painted the entire piece,
and the transformation was complete!
Small and spectacular, it is a fine showcase for miniatures.

I just KNEW it was going to be gorgeous!

an extraordinary talent

If you checked in with Thrifty Style for any length of time
you won't be surprised by my fascination with
AND admiration of the talents of Steve Garmater.
Owner of Garmater's Auto Salvage, Inc (Harlan IN),
Steve is a modest artist who is passionate about
 using what other people discard
 to create one-of-a-kind sculptures.
The longer you look at any one of them,
the more you see the intricacies of this man's vision and ability!
I'm blown away by what I saw out there today!!!
