enjoyable, inexpensive, productive

These.  Five of them for $1.00!
Odd number, to be sure,
but they fit in well with my blue and white dishes.
They're a great size and glass.
I'm not a fan of plastic glasses, so having extras around
allows for the inevitable breakage.
My husband also bought two wonderful pairs of shoes - $1 each.
I bought a black tee.  I wear them almost every single day,
so I like having an extra or two in the "wings".
Most importantly, the two hours spent were enjoyable, inexpensive, and productive!

Oh.  This, too.
I have a small collection of plaques like these....

In Lieu of Fireworks...

I don't spend money on fireworks...
instead, I celebrated the 4th of July eve by spending $2.56 at my Second Favorite Thrift Store.
It's in a nearby town where my husband works out over the noon hour....
so today I tagged along, shopped, and then we ate at a small Chinese restaurant
in the same town.
These were my purchases along with a large cribbage board
which I can't find at the moment.
In addition to this large, blue plant-waterer (which have never worked for me),
I also came home with two smaller ones - blue and green.
I use them for "pretty" in our yard.
Not a thing I "needed", but some fun items that will
bring me much more pleasure than sparklers or crackers!

Enjoying my "Blue"

I was happy to find the larger of the plant waterers at a garage sale for a quarter.
I already owned the smaller one...and haven't had a lot of luck using it for its advertised purpose.
However, I have trouble passing up anything that's blue and glass and reasonably priced!
So the second, larger one came home with me.
Then when I saw this bowl and the potter's mark on the bottom,
I spent ANOTHER quarter!
Lehman-Goertzen Pottery is an on-site working pottery housed in an 1890's factory
turned artisan studio complex located in Goshen, IN.
I've visited the pottery a few times--wistfully touching the beautiful wares,
but without the funds to purchase anything.
So I was VERY elated to find and purchase my first piece!
I'm enjoying my "blue" today.
