 You shamed me into it!

 I folded up my three corduroy skirts (black, olive green and burgundy),

- and, yes - that's how I store them...

Well, not on top of my jewelry box, but folded and on shelves....

and donned a pair of blue jeans.

Same black Tee, though.

"Is THIS better?"

I STILL say I'm as comfortable in my skirts as blue jeans.

cropped cardis and summer shoes

My friend and I were at My Favorite Thrift Store on Monday.  I had paid for my purchases and carted them to the car.  I returned to wait in line with Sue.  This sweater caught my eye - hanging at the end of a rack of sweaters.  Actually, it was the faux fur collar that caught my eye....When it was time for her to pay for her items, the cashier pointed out that all clothes were priced Buy-One-Get-One-Free.  Since she had three items, she was entitled to a free one.  Overhearing this, I boldly stepped up and claimed this sweater!

I didn't realize just how "in style" I would be wearing it until I was blog surfing this morning and found a post on cropped cardis.  This DEFINITELY would be considered a cropped cardi!  I'm not sure if it was MEANT to be or if it assumed this shape after an ill-attempted washing....

The fit -- especially the lay of the collar  -- is awkward.  But the fur is detachable.  And if I can't make it work the way it was meant to be worn, I shall use the collar another way.

Meanwhile...I have summer shoes to sort and store.  I piled them all in the middle of my closet yesterday and kind of forgot about them until this morning.  So sorting/storing is on my agenda.  That's my plan.  And I'm sticking TO it.

Return of the Wardrobe

I'm back!  Well, the wardrobe part of "me". 

Clothes weren't on my shopping list until I returned to

a comfortable "poundage" (if you catch my drift).

I'm almost there.

Enough that I fit into some of the clothes waiting for me

in my closet.

Thrifted clothes - like this jacket, sleeveless dress and belt.

came from a thrift store or was found on a curb
 (like the faux fireplace).
...globe, white creamers/pitchers, pillows, chair, chalk board, white framed mirror on the wall, corner shelf...

closets--now and later

Now....I'm up and dressed with a few modifications to accommodate the side rash and pain of my shingles.  Red jacket, green and white striped top, elastic-waisted black velvet skirt, red belt (which I've already removed) and a gold necklace.

Later...MUCH later.  Like after the holidays...I plan to organize my closet.  This is "my" side of it (as much as I had courage to show, and just as it is right now).

I had planned to show the whole shelving unit in the back of our closet, but the picture was too embarrassing to show!   This closeup shows one of the ways I store my single-pieced jewelry pieces - primarily brooches or "scatter pins", as some call them.

The shoe & tie storage on the inside of the closet door is about the only part I'm OK with.

jacket weather

I'm enjoying the warmth and color of this jacket that I bought at a thrift store last year.  The brown/gray/black buttons make it work with my brown t-shirt and black skirt.  Gold necklace and belt add a little brightness to this subdued outfit.
