what to do?

 Hmmmm.  This new Smart Phone isn't as "smart" as the last plain old cell phone I had before!

While sporting a stronger camera, it doesn't have a 10 second delay--

which has me worried when it comes to taking pictures of my Fashion Thrift.

(Today, F.T. includes a black top, and  lined grey slacks with a Talbot's label.)

What to do? What to do?

 Meanwhile, above is a Royal Traveller Casual Tote that I thrifted long ago.

I think I'm ready to pass it on.  I seldom tote my laptop with me anymore

and the few times I'd need a tote like this don't justify it taking up space.

These five glasses I thrifted more recently at $.25@.  They are Johnson Bros. and are listed

on eBay for anywhere between $14.99 and $24.99@ if I'm reading it right!

I wonder if I'll have any luck selling them?

If not, I could set a table for more than 5 by alternating clear glasses with these.

Most of us have HEARD this adage or a variation of it.

At OUR house, we try to DO it.

This Rubbermaid(?) organizer has hung on cabinet doors

in a few houses I've lived in (THIS one, for the past 9+ years).

No doubt the unit has stretched,
and for sure the packaging of these items has shrunk!

The paper and foil seem to always be falling out - to my aggravation and consternation.

So this morning - EARLY this morning - I asked my husband to help "make it do".

These are his hands and the terrific solution!

Yay!

We DO make it do!

 These slacks just may be as old as the Rubbermaid organizer!
At any rate, they are good quality and lined.
The pleats don't do a thing for my figure,
but I don't mind "making do".
The outfit will see me through a varied schedule from morning through evening.

I agree, Joe!  Though not the dress-up style that Joe is so good at, this outfit is the result of my good habits.  These are not recent purchases, but I enjoyed wearing this simple outfit on a day with such a varied schedule as I had yesterday....

And though I may someday regret adding these pink plastic salad servers onto my stash at my Favorite Thrift Store this past week, I don't reckon it will be soon!   I think the large tropical tablecloth will be fun to use next summer, too--whether as a table-topper or for constructing a tent over the clothesline for our grandchildren.....It's HUGE!

 Maybe the heart would be better hung in the bedspring wreath?

Yesterday - wore this light, short jacket over a white sweater to church with a black velvet skirt.

It's a stay-at-home-day today.  I have household chores to do 

so choose to be comfortable.

Thrifty Vignettes

And here I am!  Behind an OUTDOOR vignette...wearing a thoroughly thrifted outfit.  I plan to wear this to a couple of graduation parties we will attend this afternoon.  Everything is wet here in N.E. Indiana!   I think the double strand of pearls around my neck will make up for the mud-proof shoes on my feet.

A STAY-AT-HOME-and-GET-IT-DONE DAY

It's a house-work day today.  But I didn't let that deter me from deciding to wear a piece of jewelry to brighten my outfit!

Inspired by Londyn at Blogfashion,  I added this necklace to the neckline of an otherwise bland waffle-knit Tee.

The fog has lifted; my sinuses seem to be clearing, and there is a TON of work to do today!  (There is also an animal  in our cold air return duct.  Eeeeeek!)






 How sweet are these two oil  paintings?  They measure 7"x17".  I found them last Saturday at a Kendallville IN Thrift Shop for $.25 each!

MONDAY, MONDAY

I'm sure I've worn everything before--just not in this combination.  It's a stay-at-home day--so nothing fancy.  I ventured out on the front porch for this photo.  It's wet everywhere!  The snow should be melting if temperatures fall at all.  It can't happen too soon, as far as I'm concerned.

What Should I Do With It?

It's all so different for me - the long sweater look....
    I'm enamored with the buttons, very thin and special.  Pearlized!
    And look at that sweet placket in front.
I'm not sure what/if for a necklace...
    It's one of the most comfortable, soft sweaters I have ever worn.

Sweater - 50 cents at the Curiosity Shop in Auburn yesterday!

I'll be playing the piano and leading the hymn sing at the nursing home today.

I always look forward to this.

Navy Blue

Simple outfit for simple day. Loose, navy slacks, short-sleeved sweater, silver neck chains matching the silver buckles on my navy shoes....Thrift store finds from years past.

When I Go Out Today, I'll Be Wearing...

• A brown (man's) leather vest over a tan long-sleeved T and
  
• A beautiful cashmere scarf (gifted) almost obscuring the amber-like necklace.

All (including brown checked slacks) thirfted at one time or another except for the scarf.

CHRISTMAS HOUSE WALK

This was the Brown's house--the first on our Christmas tour of homes in Hicksille, OH yesterday.  We were a little rushed because of evening plans, but enjoyed every minute of the crisp, cold afternoon!

I layered a heavy vest over a red sweater over a long-sleeved shirt. Black boots, gloves and a white scarf kept me warm all over. The Talbot blue/gray slacks are lined and warm also. (Need I add, all were thrifted at least a year ago?)

I lost the Christmas tree pin I thought I'd pinned on the vest.  I was very sad.

I can't wait to wear these $.30 shoes that I found yesterday!  GREAT condition! (I didn't look close enough at the other black suede pair that I bought.  The suede is flaking off in a couple of places.  I might try to creatively cover up those spots with some fabric puff paints.)

A friend came over for coffee this morning...then my husband and I took neighbors out to eat at Bob Evans for mid-afternoon dinner.  Tonight, I'm meeting a friend at a Fort Wayne coffee shop.  I *heart* friends!

My "Uniform"

Somehow I never tire of black. When I took the "seasonal" color inventory years ago and discovered I was "winter",  I was confirmed in this preference.  At times I call this combination my "uniform".  Whether worn with denim or tan, I feel comfortable when I wear black.  I hope it's not TOO dreary for others.
