Always Beauty

Always changing--the scene at our local Extension Gardens...
but always beautiful.

 Beauty is sometimes in the close-ups;

 sometimes in the overview...
 but there is ALWAYS beauty.

simple and free

It doesn't get much thriftier than free
(or purpler than above)!
After church this morning, my husband and I
parked the car and set out for a leisurely walk
through an unfamiliar (to us) neighborhood.
I used my cell phone now and then to capture sights
that interested me.
I wish I'd taken more photos now.
There were so many unique features and lovely landscapes.
This last one seemed especially significant and reassuring
as we returned home to the news of the horrific happening in Orlando.
Thankful that the best things in life are simple and require no money--
including prayer.

lilac-love

When art imitates life....
Both the painting and the white box were thrifted.
The lilacs grow beautifully free
outside our kitchen window

how sweet it is!

I recruited one of my white pitchers to hold the sweet-smelling
lily-of-the-valley plucked from one of our flower beds this morning.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.
I'm wearing my $1 (thrifted) "hot coffee" tee shirt
and accessorizing with several brown bracelets (also thrifted).
I'm wishing for an inexpensive record-player (an old fashioned one)
to play these vintage LPs...
only a few of a stack of freebies I claimed from a curbside treasure trove!
How sweet it IS!

pretending

You've gotta do what you've gotta do!
I'm happy for a small stash of artificial flowers
gathered inexpensively from thrift stores and garage sales.
I've tried to be selective and avoid the most artificial-looking.
(The white vase was also a thrift store find.)
Now.  If only I knew how to introduce some warmer temperatures
to the scene here in NE Indiana!
