dress shopping

It's been a long time since I've shopped for clothes.
I needed a loose-fitting, long cool dress(es) to wear
at a conference we'll be attending.
I have NO luck in stores and shops.
So I turned to the internet where I encountered sticker shock!
Before I took the plunge, I ran up the road to a thrift store.
To my pleasant surprise, I found two dresses that will work just fine,
thank you!
$1.50 each.
Now to dig through my lingerie drawer to find a  suitable slip for the see-through dress above.

    1. I like it - and it's very comfortable. Just need to find something suitable for wearing UNDER it :)

  2. Go back to your thrift store and look for a vintage slip - they are often lovely quality, good coverage and cheap. I adore that first dress- right in style, too, Rebecca!

    1. I already checked at the one I got the dress at...no such luck. I DO have a 1/2 slip that should work (I think).

  3. Both dresses are stylish and right for a conference. Add a necklace and you are good to go.

    1. I wore the black one to church this morning with a double strand of small pearls. (Well, not REAL pearls.....)

  4. Nice! I'm not doing any shopping anymore. Want to weed out all the clothes I'm not wearing and just use what I've got.

    1. I know the feeling - and DO (wear what I've got). Unfortunately, "what I've got" is beginning to show its wear, and I need to pay attention so as not to embarrass my family! It's probably past time already!

  5. I love that first dress also. Your clothes prices are a lot cheaper in thrift stores than they are down here.

  6. That's got to make you feel good to find not one, but two lovely dresses at such an incredibly low price. Well done!
