Rather worn and ragged,
it uncomplainingly stands beside my makeshift bed,
handsome, sturdy, useful.
Pulled into temporary service,
it has stood as silent sentinel to pain and
holder of all and any things necessary for recovery.
I'm thankful it caught my eye one day at a thrift store or garage sale.
Details escape me.
Old friends are the best friends. Hope you are getting well. Remember, Spring is coming.
ReplyDeleteI AM getting well. And the thunder and heavy rain today is a great reminder that indeed spring IS coming!
DeleteIt's a very dignified bed fellow! How are you sleeping? I found a pillow under the foot of my operated side helped a great deal! xxx
ReplyDeleteWell, THAT works (sometimes). Never quite the same from one night to the next. That's the hardest. Frequently I split the night between bed and recliner.
DeleteGet well soon! Or rather I hope you feel better and are better soon! Take care of yourself. Linda@Wetcreek Blog
ReplyDeleteHi Rebecca....Looks like a nice, sturdy chair to me.
ReplyDeleteGlad to read that you are getting better each day.
Spring is trying to "spring" here in western Massachusetts but winter's icy fingers are still hanging on by threads. Susan
I love the fact that you rescued it....and it is serving you so well.
ReplyDeleteContinue to take care of you, Rebecca.
Prayers for a continued recovery for you.
Love,
Jackie
Sturdy chair, so glad it is there for you. Hope your recovery speeds up and you feel and sleep better soon.
ReplyDeleteDarla
It is a lovely chair. Hope you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely chair...Prayers for a quick recovery!
ReplyDeleteIf that chair could talk ...
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope this finds you doing much better now!
ReplyDeleteI managed somehow NOT to slip on the ice all winter looooong.
But then last weekend I tripped over a board in our garage. Nothing like what YOU did. Take care of yourself!
I was happy to remove my dad's cane from the "dress up drawer".
