$4 was the price of admittance
to beautiful Brookside
on the campus of St. Francis University (Fort Wayne, IN).
Its rooms were decorated by various local decorators...
one prettier than the other!
My own house is minimally decorated this season
However, I have deliberately scheduled a few special outings like these
in lieu of efforts at home.
It's actually turning out to be quite wonderful!
These are a few of my favorite things
from the outing I shared with a friend--
a most wonderful way to spend an afternoon
enjoying the sights of Christmas.
Merry Christmas!
These spots are all beautiful. No decor here yet and any will be minimal this year too. Love the red background on this page.
ReplyDelete:) I think the red background really made these photos "pop"!
DeleteI think many people are going very "minimal" this year. I really don't think it is going to change the significance or true meaning of Christmas. In fact, we might ALL enjoy it more!
What fun and a great way to enjoy Christmas sparkle and color without having to do all of the work.
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays dear Rebecca ~ FlowerLady
Exactly (....enjoy w/o having to do all the work)!
ReplyDeleteOh Rebecca. I think I would LOVE that place. So much fun to see all the lovely decor. Thanks for sharing and for all the super photos, too. Susan
ReplyDeleteI came over from your other blog and like this idea of visiting a decorated vintage home.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!

What a lovely place and a lovely way to enjoy the Christmas season!
ReplyDeleteI am doing the same this year. A bargain....$4 for an afternoon of Christmas.

What a great idea. I shared this afternoon with a friend. We looked at store windows and decorations and enjoyed a fancy coffee together. Fun, exercise, and inexpensive.
ReplyDeleteYes! In this fast-paced life, I think the gift of time spent together is a WONDERFUL one!
DeleteHi Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to spend a day. loved all your pics....Lots of beauty in that place, wow......and really a fun thing when you aren't able to or don't want to do a lot of decorating for what ever reason. Spending time with others is always a special treat any time of the day week or year.
Good for you.............the Gift of time spent together is about as good as it can get..............
Blessings for a continued Merry Christmas Season Rebecca,
Nellie
I've cut back on decorating this year, too. Such a beautiful place to visit ....glad you're enjoying Christmas time in a simpler fashion.
ReplyDeleteI must be honest... some of the pictures make me feel... um... like I can't breath! Too much, too much! But I sure that has to do with having become a more minimalist in my living. This year we have a living, breathing Norfolk pine as our tree and I set out my Menorah. No, I am not Jewish, but my Savior was and He is the Light of the world.
ReplyDeleteThat's OK, Tamara! It was a huge place - it's probably my picture-taking that is troubling to you. I, on the other hand, find it intriguing.
DeleteNo, I it is the "minimalist" in me! Your pix were grand!
DeleteHi my dear!! Thanks as always for stopping by, sorry I've been away for so long! Such gorgeous festive photos thank you so much for sharing and I hope you have a lovely Christmas xx
ReplyDeleteOh pretty lady, this is stunning! I love the tree decorations, but actually, I'm impressed with it all...hehehe Thanks for sharing this inspirational post.
ReplyDeleteChristmas is the most beautiful time of year and I wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas.
Hugs,
FABBY
How lovely! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteHOPE you had a CHRISTmas celebration that was exactly what God knew you needed this year. Praying for you that 2015 holds less chaos and more peace.
ReplyDeleteI didn't decorate at all, I just went to my daughters on Dec 9 and enjoyed her lovely home. I would have loved to spend an afternoon at this venue and absorbed the festive air! Your photographs were so enjoyable!!
