today's haul

I went to My Favorite Thrift Store this morning
primarily to buy some greeting cards.
At only $.45 each they are the best deal in town!
I always find some very unique and appropriate cards, and today was no exception.
Just inside the door stood this treasure.
The price made it irresistible.
(You may know how THAT is!)
The volunteer clerk suggested I could use it to load up my other purchases.
It was a good idea, but except for the cards, I only purchased 2 wooden puzzles
and an amber necklace that I'm testing for authenticity by putting it in the frig
for a couple of hours and seeing if it turns cold or not...

  1. sort of a haul-er rather than a haul :-) will be helpful at flea markets and farmers markets and such. those wheeled baskets are a big seller so you were lucky to get it when you did.

  2. I have 2 of these. Mine fold flat, also.
They make great carts for laundry. I believe they were originally book carts, but I'm not sure.

    1. Book carts? You don't think they were shopping carts? Like for people who live in cities & walk to shops?

    1. 'Twas an interesting 4th.... Worked in yard all morning; played piano at a wedding in the afternoon; neighbor's fireworks from 9:00 to midnight.

  4. I don't have a cart like that but have always thought they would be handy. Didn't know about testing the amber in the fridge. So what were your results?

    1. It did NOT pass the refrigerator test (it's supposed to remain warm in spite of being in frig). Since I only found this "test" on one site, I'm hoping - wishing, really - that maybe it's not accurate. The other tests are less feasible for me. So I guess I'll just wear it and enjoy it WHATever it is.

  5. I have one of those shopping carts. I purchased mine new at Target in the laundry section (no idea why but it's called a laundry basket there). It's been a tongue saver on vacations...I don't have to bite my tongue nearly as hard since we no longer struggle with lots of loose bags of groceries after a long tiring drive.
