"we need wabi-sabi"

I've got quite a BIT of wabi-sabi in my home
and have found the book Wabi-Sabi Welcome encouraging and relaxing just to read it!
"simply showing up, not showing off"
"live large, open lives"
 "largely about learning to pay better attention"
"uncluttered way of living"
ALL this and so much more..
Especially I like "learning to embrace the imperfect"!

  1. I read about wabi-sabi years ago and realized that that is how my dear husband and I were living. The book you mentioned sounds like great reading. I should see if the library has a copy.

    I've been in a real 'funk' the past month or so, somewhat hard to shake, but I feel like I am coming up out of it.

    This book was good - emphasis on how to extend wabi-sabi hospitality, but enough to rekindle the wabi-sabi vibes throughout. I'm going to check whether she's written other books on the subject. (She is Julie Pointer Adams) :)

  3. Dear Rebecca, I totally embrace the concept of wabi-sabi. Fortunately, we live in a community where the norm is "wabi-sabi". Also, I'm reminded of what Paul said in Philippians 4:12: "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want." Contentment is a gift to the soul. Hugs.
