art and ideas

A perfect day to attend an Art Fest
 at nearby Riverside Gardens.

Artists of a wide variety of mediums set up booths
to display and sell their works.

I picked up several business cards (and seemed to have dropped a bunch of them SOMEwhere...)
After a taco pizza at Pizza Hut (our favorite),
my husband and I headed to Barnes and Noble
where I did some SERIOUS magazine browsing!
I came home with some ideas to incorporate into our house/home.
There is no shortage of magazines in spite of
competition from blogs and other internet sources.
In fact, I believe there were more than I've ever seen there before!
I enjoyed my day filled with Art and Ideas.
No cost entertainment--shared with my favorite man.

  1. Ah Rebecca, this sounds like such a nice, relaxing day! It is raining here, but that is okay. It is to move out tomorrow when we will travel to Kansas for a family reunion. We have been camping, not my thing, but Hubby really enjoyed the fishing. I am so glad to be home for the day--until he dropped 6 jars of marina and Alfredo on garage floor. A real mess...but, still I call it a good day over all...glad to be home, off the road, and with an easy autumn rain. Hope your weekend continues to be fine.....

    1. A trip to Kansas sounds good to me! (Kansas is my birthplace and the place I met my husband....) I can imagine the mess in your garage! Bless your heart. I think that autumn rain is supposed to fall here today. It would be welcomed :)

  2. It looks like you had a really nice day! I love seeing the different styles that artists have. I found a really good artist in Fargo, ND when we were down there. I wish I could remember her name, I have her card somewhere.
I love doing things with my hubby too, it makes the day just perfect, doesn't it.
    Hugs, Cindy

    1. There were so MANY paintings I would have loved to take home with me - 2 artists in particular were "my kind" of artists. It was a sweet day - and ended well, too - around a fire in our back yard with neighbors.

  5. Sounds like a perfect day out. I sometimes get overwhelmed with inspiration from those colorful magazines. So overwhelmed that I do nothing. Well, that's my excuse anyhow, LOL!

    1. I can relate! I DID come home with some ideas, but the tape measure put a damper on several of them :(
I usually record 3-4 ideas in the datebook I still carry 'round. Sometimes take a photo or 2. That way I'm not completely overwhelmed and have a few specifics to try...

  6. Hi Rebecca! Sounds like fun to me. One of my sisters just gave me a stack of magazines she was done with and the Country Living Magazine with the spider cake was one of them! Glad you had a fun time. Susan
