my magnificent obsession

Thrift store finds - one and all.
Apparently at ONE time I had quite an obsession.
I stumbled on most of them in a closet while hauling out this
assortment of frames for a recent painting project.
I've found a few spaces in which  to tuck, hang, or stand them.
It's kind of nice to be able to change out a picture or two...

  1. Lovely things. I have my walls full as they should ever be. I have a lot of my mother in law's work up in each room among a few other things too.

  2. You really have some lovely pieces, Rebecca. I think my favorite is the one of the sliced apple. I love the simplicity of it.

  4. I have the same problem . . . I'm not sure I met a picture I didn't like . . . and there is only so much wall space! I really liked your pictures that you showed!

  5. Oh, I see you are like me, you buy them and stash them away for the day that you need them... I am pulling together all of my white frames and I am filling them with pages that I've cut out of a 1950's reader. They are so cute, I think.
Your framed pictures are lovely, I really like the violin and trombone picture.
    Have a wonderful week!

    1. I hope you'll show them, Cindy. What a great idea. I painted mine (all just laying around) and hope to sell them to a gal who is making a picture collage above her sofa. I sold her another one last week, and she mentioned she could use more....

  7. I thought you were going to say that your new obsession was painting pictures.
You could do it, I know.

    1. Nope, Jackie! I mean it when I say "I wish I could but I'm SURE I can't"!

  8. Great finds Rebecca. I rarely go to the thrift stores anymore. I don't need anymore 'stuff', I have plenty. I know if I visited the stores something would beg me to take it home. :-) Although, I do sometimes go on seniors day for clothing, or if I am looking for something in particular.

    1. I'm pretty much "there" myself, Lorraine! These were all items I had thrifted back in the day. They were in my closet!

  9. You had quite a collection hidden away in the closet. I am particularly taken with the first one, the apple. It would be perfect in a kitchen. I do try to change out a picture or two once in awhile but not often.
