Wednesday Worked for Me

Here are a few of my "finds" at a thrift store and garage sale yesterday.
This print is attractive to me and might have a little age on it (?)
The frame is interesting, too, and quite a large one!
I thought this pair of sponge holders quite charming.
A fish and a frog.

The front paperweight was marked 25 cents.
I'm happy to add it to my collection (and sad about the quality of the picture).
I'm always up for a well-patterned tin.
This one found a place with those in the red color family.
Wednesday WORKED for me this week!
What "treasures" are YOU finding these days????

  1. Not as many as you today, it's too wet! That frame is a beauty and I remember buying my Grandma one of those pan scourer frogs as a coming-back-from-holiday gift back in the 1970s! x

  2. BIG SIGH! You find the BEST stuff. I haven't been thrifting in ages but I plan to go tomorrow. I am going to drop off some books and hope the Good Thrifting Fairy helps me find something while I'm there.

  3. Wow, Rebecca. The paperweight for a quarter was the "ganga" of the century. The tin is so pretty, too! Good job. I'll be posting on a table centerpiece I stuffed (and remodeled) into a bag for $2 at a church yard sale. Stay tuned. Susan

  4. Your recent posts have tickled my thrifting rib....I have done very well for weeks to avoid going and bringing home. Then again, the heat index is 108 here today...believe I will scratch that "rib" for now and read a book!

    1. I don't blame you! We had our own little heat wave here! 106 & I have no idea what the index may be! Needless to say, I didn't thrift today!

  6. Love the tin at the bottom, I had one very similar for many years. I was scrolling are realized I missed so many of your posts because I was not following!! So I'm your newest follower! My spoon project is I'm making plate flowers for gardens and I need spoons with handles narrow enough to fit into the copper pipe stands. They get flattened and glued to the back of the "flower".

  7. That tin would work so well for a sewing basket. Love the picture and the ones on your background.

  8. You did well....I think the paperweights are a grand find. I had one of those frogs years ago...I have never seen one of the fish. The tin is gorgeous. I love to garage sale....
