I purchased three aprons and a picture frame decorated with baseball bat, glove & ball (perfect for one of the grandsons). Total price was just over $2. (I can't remember exact amount.)
Here is one of the aprons - complete with a pocket! All it needed was a bit of ironing. And, yes, I DO wear aprons.
Occasionally.
Occasionally.
What a great apron! It's interesting to speculate who made a garment and who wore it. I grew up with aprons, my mom always had one on and would often forget to take it off before we went to church on Sunday nights. It was just part of her daily attire.
ReplyDeleteHi Rebecca, we have a St. Vincent de Paul here too. It used to be close by and then moved so haven't been there in quite a while.
ReplyDeleteAprons, I had an aunt who was never without one. When I think about it, she was the quintessential 50s mom like Mrs. Cleaver!
Happy cleaning or baking, whatever you're up to today! Bonnie
My maternal Grandma almost never was seen without an apron. They are cute and practical. Congratulations on your finds, Rebecca. Susan
ReplyDeleteI don't wear them ALL the time like SUSAN'S maternal Grandma or BONNIE'S aunt....and I've never forgotten and worn one to church like DONNA'S mother :) but they really are quite practical when working around the house, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteThat apron is so pretty I'd be tempted to wear it as a halter top with jeans! xxx
ReplyDeleteVix, I can see you doing that! And then I'd think, "Why can't I come up with those kinds of ideas????"
ReplyDeleteGreat Find~ I love thrifting ~Enjoy your treasures ~Heather ;D
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather. I DO enjoy my "treasures"....as well as meeting other "treasure hunters" like you :)
ReplyDeleteGreat apron. I have a few but never seem to remember to wear them. I'm a fairly messy cook. I need to get those aprons out. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteDarla
Darla, I've found them great for cooking or for cleaning, too! They intercept stains that seem to pop up out of nowhere!
ReplyDeleteOOOh, i love vintage aprons! That one is great!
