everyday

Wearing a thrifted burgundy corduroy skirt
with a simple black long-sleeved Tee.
A black patent leather belt with gold buckle gives a sparkle
to an otherwise simple outfit.
This is typical of what I wear for "everyday".
Comfortable enough to "chore in";
attractive enough to run an unexpected errand
or meet a drop-in friend.
What is YOUR favorite type of "everyday" outfit?

  1. I just knew you would look nice hanging around the house...as for me ...lets just say I would hate to have the fire alarm go off. I have a couple of night gowns that look like a dress that I live in. :)

    1. Oh, that's SO fun, Dee! I'd do that if I could. Psychologically, I just do better work (researching, writing, etc.) if I go upstairs and get dressed before I start. Don't hate me!

  2. Believe me, the everyday wear here is nothing like the class act you are wearing!!! I favor Dee's mode of dress for cleaning about the house!

    1. I think I paid $3 for the skirt and shirt together. They're washable, and I don't change clothes from the time I get dressed 'til the time I go to bed....

  3. My Fav Everyday Outfit is Magnolia Pearl Bloomers & a Tank Top with an overlay Crocheted Top.

Thanks for stopping by for a Blog Visit, I too am mostly enjoying the decorations of others this year and only modestly decorating this ole house & my Showroom for the Holidays. I Love Decorating but have been spending more time lately doing Family Activities and the Great Edit & Purge Project to attempt to Simplify Life and cull the Hoard of possessions we've accumulated over the years. As I'm getting Older the Simplicity of Life is what I'm most Enjoying and I'm trying to cut out whatever is Time consuming or Complicated.

  4. When I was twelve years old I discovered blue jeans and I have lived in them ever since. Practically every day that's what you'll find me in. To me there's nothing more comfortable and stylish. You look great though in your outfit.
    Hugs!

    1. I like blue jeans, too, Sandy. I need to find some that fit. Then I'll just exchange my corduroy skirts for jeans :)

  5. Well ''everyday'' dress for me is definitely not a class act like yours! ha When I'm just going to be here at home working (cooking, housework, etc) I have jeans skirts and tee-shirts...or sweatshirts in winter...that I wear with socks and tennis shoes. Usually my hair is pulled back with a barrette. I would have to change to run an errand. I'm not the kind that can just go out to the store in my everyday stuff. lol You always looks so neat and nice! :)

    1. Well, if it's not corduroy skirts, you MIGHT find me in a jean skirt :) I guess I'm just too lazy to change clothes and this is the alternative.

  6. I love your simple elegance! Oh, I wish I could wear skirts more, but I stick to pants as I work with elementary school children and find myself on the floor many times a day. My most favorite outfit for work or otherwise is a blue jeans with a classic white blouse and a pair of loafers or boots. I often accessorize with silver earrings, and maybe a pretty scarf. This outfit always makes me feel wonderful!

  7. I'm like you, I put on a skirt and I also wear a nice looking sweater in the winter time, both thrifted, and wear them all day, if it's particularly chilly I will wear tights, too. I go walking like that, I go to the grocer like that, too. I was taught, as a child, to get completely dressed every day, and I just always have. Then if someone should turn up on my door step, I'm prepared. That's just me.
    Hugs, Cindy

  8. I have to weigh in on this! Skirt, top or sweater. I am addicted to JM Collection's three quarter sleeve tops. I buy a new one or two every year and just this year had to retire the first one I bought. Today it's red ribbed turtleneck sweater, black skirt and tights. I can turn the heat down and be comfortable. I do have a jean skirt I wear about once a year. Just not comfortable. My kids laugh but I buy my clothes by their weight--helps the pain level. I think it's a lot what you're used to.

  9. I'm all about blue jeans. But then, I spend most of my days crawling around on the floor with babies. Some days I have to change my top a few times so I have a plethora of thrifted tees. In days of yore I liked sweaters, but until I quit breaking out in flashes of heat I'm not putting one on just to have to ripped it off a few minutes later.
