Before leaving for our Study Group this morning,
I decided to make heart hang-ups for each lady.
I pulled out my almost-depleted wallpaper sample book
(a thrift-store find, naturally),
cut out heart shapes, cut backgrounds on which I glued the hearts,
printed out favorite quotes from the chapter we're studying today (Celebration of Discipline),
glued on a button or two, modpodged & punched a hole for a ribbon hanger.
This is the jacket I wore. I love its nubby texture, covered buttons, and general cut and style!
Of course, it TOO was a thrift store find!
Oh, Rebecca. You did such a great job on the little hearts. The ladies will love them.
ReplyDeleteLove the red nubby coat, too. It suits you wonderfully. Isn't it great to bring color to gray, winter days? Susan
Such a sweet red jacket! And your hearts with quotations were darling...how clever! I need to remember this.
ReplyDelete5 more inches of snow yesterday, this morning was -6 with -16 wind chill...I would need more than your red jacket to keep me warm...I am STAYING inside AGAIN today. Enjoy your day as it sounds like you are off to a good one...the ladies will love the hearts!
I dore your red boucle jacket, the colour is so good on you. Those hearts are gorgeous. What a lovely pre-Valentine's post. xxx

What a lovely thing to do Rebecca. I am intrigued by your topic - 'the Celebration of Discipline'. It sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent jacket...and the valentines you made are so thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteWhat great little hearts -- and what a great jacket for Valentine's (or Christmas!)
ReplyDeleteLove the nubby jacket. Short jackets make for easy getting in and out of vehicles in cold weather.
ReplyDeleteOh my dear what a fantastic and lovely idea!!
ReplyDeleteAnd a very nice jacket, looks great on you.
Well, my dear, maybe the difference you found on me was that I was laughing, something that hasn't been usual in my pictures lately and also I'm trying to introduce some bright colours with details (the red bracelet)
Hope you're having a joyful Sunday and I wish you a Happy Valentin's, my friend.
xoxo
oh that is a fantastic jacket! love it! where did you find those heart-shaped buttons? When straightening my side of the closet I counted 17 black things. I better start thrift shopping for some color~red would be a good start!
ReplyDeleteJacquelyn, found the buttons in one of my two button boxes! I have NO idea how/where/when I got them. I was just happy to find a use for them and reduce my "stuff" a little bit more :)
