what a deal

On our way home from our short getaway yesterday, we stopped at a small thrift shop that we live too far away from to visit often...By bedtime, we were this far on the baseball jigsaw puzzle I bought. It requires a magnifying glass to read all the stadium names
and other fine print.
I was charmed by this ceramic cat (even though I'm not a big fan of real cats).
The basket, pink velvet ribbon and white Homer Laughlin bowl caught my fancy, too--
along with an Arch Book - a child's version of the Bible story of the woman at the well.
My husband found 2 pair of slacks and a sweater.
We left the store $3 and some odd cents poorer!
What a deal.

    1. Sorry, Sandy. Just not a big fan. I think kittens are cute, but not a big fan of cats.

  3. I am always amazed at the low prices at your thrift stores.
Nice finds. I like cats, but after having numerous cats when my kids were young, I decided the shredded fabric on the antique sofa, from cats scratching, and the holes in leather furniture, from their claws would mean no more cats when those were no longer with us! I have stuck to my decision. I'm really a dog person, anyway.

  6. What an unusual kitty! Glad you bought it, now it has a happy home. I'm beginning to like glass, wood, yarn, ceramic, and painted cats more than real ones these days.......

    1. "Unusual" is the word! It look rather raccoon-like, in my opinion.

  7. That pink ribbon was worth the trip. Like the Homer Laughlin bowl too. HL items seem to show up pretty regularly in thrift stores tho mostly with a pattern of one sort or another. They must have made a lot of pottery.
