Thanks to my husband's patience, skill, and industry!
These qualities are essential to a lifestyle of thrift, I've found.
He's got all three.
I'm still working on a couple of them.
Is that bottom drawer cedar lined for storage of woolens? How clever. I've never run across that before ---- surprising with all the auctions that we have gone to. Did it come that way or did your handy husband think that up?
That's how it came! I've never seen it either. The gentleman that sold it to us thinks it is about 40-50 years old (it was his son's when his son still lived at home.
Really nice. The cedar drawer in the chest would make it a winner for me. Also like the way the former telephone seat looks when the two of you finished it.
Nice work and I love the new color.

DeleteHi Rebecca...You and your hubs are a good pair. You have a good eye and he has the talent to remodel. Nice combo! Susan
ReplyDeleteHe is a very patient man...and I can tell that he pays particular attention to details.
ReplyDeleteLovely work, he does.
Hugs to you both....
Jackie

Thanks, Darla. I usually try to finish things the way I'd like them if I were keeping them - even if we plan to sell them :)
DeleteLove that cedar drawer. Love what you did to those pieces!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Martha. I thought it was quite a unique feature (the cedar drawer).
DeleteYour husband has done a marvellous job of restoring all of those pieces, I love the dresser!
