shades and their lamps

When Brenda at Cozy Little House wrote recently under the title of "Shades of Me", I was happy to learn that someone ELSE isn't fond of overhead lighting.  Lamps FILL our living room. Of the seven here, five are in this one room!

A couple of the lamps were bought at a proper furniture store
with money received as Christmas gifts from piano students...
The rest are either thrift store or garage sale finds.

  3. I do love a lamp or three, they set a nice cosy tone to a room, much better than a harsh overhead light. xxx

  4. Hi Rebecca....I have the EXACT pink fringed lamp shade. It's sitting on a round tired table in my living room. Bought it several years ago in Arizona at a Cracker Barrel giftshop. It traveled cross country with us when we moved to the east and here is sits. I think lighting is VERY important in a room. Like all your lamps.Susan

  8. I too much prefer lamps to overhead lighting. We do have a ceiling fan/light in our family room but we installed a dimmer switch so we could control the brightness. I have a matching set of thrifted Americana shades I will find lamps for some day! Love that blue & white lamp in front of your mirror!
