Champs Elysees Arc de Triomphe

Framed size: 16.5"x14.5"
I found this framed beauty when I made an unplanned stop
at a local thrift store yesterday.
I couldn't resist it.
The back indicates the original owner purchased it in Paris.
It was framed in 1968.
My photos don't do it justice.  The colors are vivid and bright.
It is matted simply and well.
The subject matter is identified in what appears to be handwriting (above)...
I've been unsuccessful in identifying the artist.
Since I have no similar paintings/prints
with which to group this one,
I would part with it for a fair sum.
I'm sure it will find its place
and live happily ever after SOMEwhere.

  1. Really nice and as you said, well framed. It looks like a print in the photo's. Someone with a "French theme" in their home would love it.

  2. Lovely picture and nice find...but makes me sad as I wonder who went to Paris and what made them part with the memento?

  6. I love it when a piece of Art speaks to you and you can find it at the best possible price... Art is the one thing I have often paid full price for though, it's one of my greatest Loves in all it's various forms... perhaps that's the Artist in me connecting to it? This is a lovely piece, Hope you can find out more about the Artist and History of it... but even if you don't it's a great Score all the same.

Thanks for your sweet words about our Grand-Daughter... it was agonizing to choose & let them know which portraits were among our favs!!! I love the way the Senior Portraits are done nowadays, no more Mug Shots! *Hurray!*

  8. I was in Paris in the early seventies. I'll bet they purchased the art in Momart, where artists gather and sell their wares. It is beautiful there.
