Sometimes while looking at magazines at Barnes and Noble,
certain rooms catch my attention and hold it!
Like THIS one (above).
Once I got home, I realized why!
This is one end of our living room--
obviously in transition between Christmas and Valentine's Day.
(This photo belongs on this blog of mine - Thrifty Style....
because as I look at the details, I realize how much of what we have
has come from thrift stores and curb sides.)
I know I'll never make a magazine,
but we DO resemble that cover a little bit,
don't you think?

Well you SHOULD make a magazine spread. Your home is lovely and you and your DH are such a great team. I'd love to have you price your room sometime, you know add up how much (little!) you spent.

That would be an interesting venture, Darla. (I'm not sure anyone would believe the figure I would probably come up with though...."
DeleteI have to say Rebecca, I honestly liked your room better. It had a much more comfortable feel. You know I'm right there with you on the thrifting and curbside! It's so much more interesting to me!
ReplyDeleteLove Di ♥
Oh, aren't you sweet, Diana. "Interesting" and "comfortable" are such kind words--to MY ears, anyway.
DeleteWarm and welcoming is how I'd describe the pictured room, but yours even more so. You and I seem to both have such a fondness for decorating, especially with thrifting, handmade, and anything else not bought full price!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sandy....Add warm and welcoming to interesting and comfortable and I'm At Home! Wish we could spend a day or two together. I know I would be HUGELY blessed.
ReplyDeleteMe, too, dear friend. Next time you visit your brother perhaps we can do just that.
ReplyDeleteOh for sure, Rebecca, I love your old pieces, they're lovely. And red, well, you know I love red!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Yes, and I love the touches of red in YOUR living room, Cindy!
DeleteOh yes! I agree with others that your home looks more comfortable and warm. Magazine homes never look happy.
ReplyDeleteYou're kind....Sometimes I DO see rooms I like in magazines - but they're usually the "rumpled" ones :)
ReplyDeleteIt does remind me of you decor....love your room.
ReplyDeleteSo come see it in person, Dee!
DeleteYes you do resemble that Magazine Cover! And Thanks for noticing my intentional switch to a more Edited Post. One of my 2013 Intentions is to perfect the Art and Discipline of Editing. I confess it is not one of my strengths and I admire those who do it so well... I may never be a 'less is more' type or a Minimalist, since its just not my Nature, but I do feel that with practice I can become a more accomplished Editor and the Land of Blog is another area I can exercise more restraint! *Winks*

I doubt that I'll ever be a Minimalist either, Dawn....but a "more accomplished Editor" is always a goal on my radar, too.
DeleteI so agree, it does look like the magazine..I adore that room of yours..could be the red too? lol
