venturing beyond familiar

Saturday, my husband and I ventured beyond "familiar" into our neighbor state - Ohio.
Thrifting and lunch was our agenda.
At one shop (Lima, OH), after we had selected clothes from the 75% off rack,
I was told we could have had 6 items for $1.00!
I was running out of time, so just took the 4 items I had for $1.00.
The Lee jeans above and the leopard print shirt at the bottom were two of them.
At another store in another town (Delphos), I found these dishes for $.25 each.
I'll use them in place of greeting cards--
maybe with a few brownies or cookies.
I found the jacket I'm modeling in the first photo at this shop, too.
I just love the "lines" on its back.
My husband came home with a pair of shoes and a couple of shirts, too.
It was both entertaining and productive to "Venture Beyond Familiar"!
Oh!  I almost forgot this white planter
which fits nicely with my collection
of white planters and ironstone.  Twenty-five cents, too.

  1. Score! I went thrifting yesterday and everything was 1/2 off. I was helping a fried with a too re-do and we hit the mother lode!!
I love your hair cut. You look great. I love the linen jacket and the leopard shirt. I am a sucker for anything animal print. It matches my leopard print hands!! I prefer that over calling it liver spots!

    1. Sure would be fun to see the end results of the re-do. Hope your friend let you post some pictures! Glad you hit the mother lode. Isn't it a great feeling?

  2. As always you SCORED! I have a very similar heavy lineen jacket in taupe, mine has no buttons on the back or I might have thought it was the SAME jacket. I wear it all the time. I like bracelet length sleeves on jackets.

  3. Lots of goodies that foxy jungle print on you!

  4. Loved the leopard top,Rebecca. That's my style. Nice job! Susan

  5. I love the leopard top and the jacket - wonderful on you! You always get the best deals!

  6. You should write a book on how to go thrifting. Love absolutely everything you found!

  7. Wow you found some great stuff the jeans look really nice on you ~Love Heather

  8. Ohio is my first home state. I'm glad you found treasures there. I love the pleats at the back of the jacket. Very stylish.

  9. Wow. Just catching up with you. What great finds. I LOVE those plates! I'm still in hibernation mode, and not visiting my local thrift stores. I thought I'd miss the shopping more than I have. This is most likely because I've been "shopping from home", and no, not on the internett either. Just in my own cupboards and basement. Oh, my. What a treasure trove. Well, that's my opinion. My husband has another word for it. Hoard.

  10. Hi there!! you rock in leopardprint, the colouring and pattern is just so flattering on you! The jacket and jeans look pretty amazing too and those plates you found to use with cookies is such an inspirational and thoughtful idea xxx

  11. I want to shop with YOU!
Such cute jeans and that leopard blouse looks too cute with your
    great haircut!
    Perfect finds.

Stop by for my giveaway if you get the time in the next few days.
I think you might like it, Rebecca!
